Although Lightyear Games filed for bankruptcy in 2013, it did not stop the game from receiving multiple fan made sequels.
However, it would resurface in the early 2010s, eventually earning a cult following due to its unique gameplay, story, and graphics which resemble closely to games from the 90s. However, due to growing popularity of first-party games for the PlayStation 2 in 2002, the game was obscured and underperformed commercially. The game received positive reviews upon release. During their adventures, they stumble upon new allies and powerful bosses sent by the empire. The game follows the titular duo as they enter a mission to save the Sun from an intergalactic empire. Nebula & Quasar is an independent 3D platform video game developed and published by Lightyear Games for the PlayStation 2 in May 7, 2002.
